This guide explains how to use the Groundwire app with your smartphone
Setup Groundwire hostedPBX Android #
SIP Channel #
The first thing you will see when you start Groundwire is this menu. Press the 3 dots in the upper right corner and select Add Account. Here you will see "New SIP account" at the top. Click on it here as well.
Set up the SIP account Android #
SIP Account #
Here you can see the configuration window. In the title you can enter the name of your account, for example Test123 or whatever. The username is the extension number that is defined on the hostedPBX. The password is the password you have set on the hostedPBX. The domain is the place where the client should register(hostedPBX). Here you can take the name of the system or the IP address. Both work exactly the same. If you do not have this information, contact your IT service provider or write us a mail to customer.service@winet.ch. Please write in the mail from which company you are or the customer number if available. A callback number and which internal number you want to register.
Advanced settings #
Press Advanced Settings at the bottom. Here you need to make several configurations. IOS and Android are not exactly the same, but below you will find a list of the
necessary configurations that need to be set.
Android
Under "Advanced settings
- Incoming call → Standard
- -Enable video calls→ Off
- -codecs for WiFi → Move G.711 u-law to disabled codecs, Prio 1: G.711 a-law, Prio 2: G.722
- -Codecs for 3G → Move G.711 u-law to disabled codecs, Prio 1: G.711 a-law, Prio 2: G.722 -Enable video calls → Off
- -Auth. Define user name = Enter subscriber/internal, BSP: 311 Under "NAT traversal".
- Force private IP → Off
- Keep Alive Period → 20
Setup Groundwire hostedPBX IOS #
SIP Channel #
The first thing you will see when you start Groundwire is this menu. Press the gear in the upper right corner and select Accounts. Press the + as shown below and then press General SIP Account.
SIP Account #
Here you can see the configuration window. In the title you can enter the name of your account, for example Test123 or whatever. The username is the extension number that is defined on the hostedPBX. The password is the password you have set on the hostedPBX. The domain is the place where the client should register (hostedPBX). Here you can take the name of the system or the IP address. Expert settings Settings #
Press Advanced Settings at the bottom. Here you will need to set several configurations. IOS and Android are not exactly the same but below you will find a list of the necessary configurations that need to be set.
IOS
Under "Expert Settings":
- Codecs for WiFi → Move G.711 u-law to disabled codecs, Prio. 1: G.711 a-law, Prio 2: G.722
- Codecs for 3G → Move G.711 u-law to disabled codecs, Prio 1: G.711 a-law, Prio 2: G.722
- Enable video calls → Off
- Define user name = Enter participant/internal, BSP: 311
Under "NAT Traversal
- Force private IP → Off
- Keep Alive Period → 20
Push Server #
Push Server Enable #
If you want to use the push service, you have to send a mail to the Customer Service. The mail is customer.service@winet.ch. Write us a short mail, preferably with the customer number, which extension you have configured, what kind of cell phone you use, e.g. IPhone, Samsung etc... We will then activate the push service for you.
Important information #
Multiple registration #
Not all hPBX support multiple registration. Ayrix hPBX supports multiple registration from version 5.0.

Display format #
This is a setting of the phone and not of the app itself. Each phone has its own setting here. There are also differences in Android models. A Samsung and a Xiaomi are similar, but not exactly the same. Here you have to research yourself how it works on your phone.
